Graphic Happiness II
Role
Experience design, Graphic design
Graphic Happiness consists of a publication, a traveling exhibition, and an educational program about 100 years of Dutch graphic design. During a tour of China, the exhibition showcased work by more than sixty designers, demonstrating their love for design.
The logo is based on the Chinese symbol for "double happiness" and the red, white, and blue Dutch flag. It symbolizes the unity of both countries in design. The logo is divided into three bands that hold together all the flat-pack furniture pieces in the exhibition and bind the publication together. Thus, the logo literally and figuratively serves as the unifying factor within the entire design.
The publication consists of 246 individual pages featuring work by artists including Dick Bruna, Wim Crouwel, Theo van Doesburg, Anthon Beeke, Lust, Thonik, Niessen & De Vries, Studio Dumbar, and Trapped in Suburbia.
