Bureaucracy

Role

Concept, Experience design, Spatial design

This immersive installation, commissioned by The Upside Down Berlin, provocatively explores the theme of endless German bureaucracy. The design breaks through the expectations of a traditional thematic space and transforms a recognizable symbol, the filing cabinet, into an overwhelming visual and spatial statement.

In a seemingly endless environment, countless cabinets multiply through a play of mirrors and reflections. The result is an endlessly repeating pattern that both disorients and intrigues the visitor. Through a carefully choreographed interplay of light and shadow, the installation constantly changes character: cabinets seem to breathe, move, and organize themselves into a hypnotic rhythm.

The physical materiality of the furniture is amplified by the digital illusion of infinity, creating an alienating yet irresistible landscape. In this way, bureaucracy is not only displayed but made physically tangible—vast, repetitive, and inescapable.
