What are you allowed to joke about in satire these days? Where is the line? In the exhibition Seriously funny at the Institute for Sound and Vision, you will discover how satire makes us laugh while it addresses serious themes, and why satire is so important.
Satire should provoke, and Seriously funny does that literally and figuratively. The walls are made of sandpaper, for example. Visitors are playfully challenged to explore their own satire boundaries: stools turn out to be scales, you watch videos with your head in a garbage can, you can record your own satirical speech from the throne, test how quickly you get offended, and even your completed survey goes straight through the shredder.
